This policy explains what information Build With AI collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.

1. Who we are

Build With AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online course available at startbuildwithai.com. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@startbuildwithai.com. We are the “data controller” of the personal information described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Name and email address — when you enroll (at checkout) and when you sign in to the course.
• Payment information — processed directly by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe shares limited data with us (e.g., that a payment succeeded, your email, and the amount).
• Anything you send us — for example, when you email support.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data — pages viewed, approximate location (from IP), browser and device type, and referring links, collected through analytics and our advertising pixel.
• Cookies & similar technologies — see the Cookies section below.

3. How we use your information

• To process your purchase and give you access to the course.
• To send you your login link and account-related emails.
• To provide support and respond to your messages.
• To operate, secure, and improve the website and course.
• To measure and run advertising (e.g., on Facebook and Instagram) and understand what’s working.
• To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, fraud prevention).

Our legal bases (where GDPR applies) are: performance of our contract with you (delivering the course), your consent (marketing cookies), and our legitimate interests (security, analytics, improving the product).

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, under agreements that limit their use of it:

5. Cookies & tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

• Essential — a secure session cookie that keeps you signed in to the course, and local storage that remembers your progress. The site can’t work without these.
• Analytics — to understand how the site is used.
• Advertising — the Meta Pixel, used to measure ad performance and show relevant ads. We ask for your consent via the cookie banner before loading non-essential trackers, where required.

6. Advertising (Meta/Facebook)

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use the Meta Pixel to measure results (for example, that someone who saw an ad later enrolled). This may involve sharing hashed, limited event data with Meta. You can manage ad personalization in your Facebook/Instagram settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising via optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.

7. How long we keep your data

Because the course includes lifetime access, we keep your account information (name and email) for as long as your account exists so you can keep signing in. Payment and tax records are retained as required by law (typically up to 7 years). You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below), subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Delete your information;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• Opt out of marketing and of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell your data).

9. Security

We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, secure authentication, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we collect in the first place.

10. International users

We operate from the United States and use service providers that may process data in the U.S. and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the site, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S.

11. Children

Build With AI is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
